FIRST STEPS TO LITERACY

First Steps is for adults with intellectual disabilities who want to build skills, confidence, and independence in a supportive learning environment.

In this course, you can:

  • Improve your literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Build confidence in everyday life.

  • Learn practical life skills such as cooking, nutrition, and personal wellbeing.

  • Develop social skills and make new friends.

  • Set goals and work towards them at your own pace.

  • Increase your independence and participation in your community.

 

You'll learn alongside other people, build friendships, and become part of a welcoming community where you are respected, valued, and encouraged to succeed.

Our staff and volunteers work alongside you, providing positive support and helping you focus on the skills that matter most to your goals and everyday life.​​​

What?

Part time classes to build life skills and build on literacy and numeracy skills.

Classes are FREE

When?

​​Part-time:

  • Monday & Wednesday, 9.00am to 12.30pm

  • Tuesday & Thursday, 9.00am to 12.30pm
